The 300-year life of the Sleepers of the Cave in the Quran - 2

16:21 - 2024/04/18

Man cannot live for 300 years in normal condition, so how can we accept the claim of Quran about 300 years life without water and food of the Seven Sleepers?!

Quran: “You will suppose them to be awake, although they are asleep. We turn them to the right and to the left, and their dog [lies] stretching its forelegs at the threshold. If you come upon them, you will surely turn to flee from them, and you will surely be filled with a terror of them.”[1]

This verse proves that they did not have a normal sleep, but they had a sleep similar to that of a dead person - with their eyes open. In addition, the Qur'an says that sunlight does not shine into their cave.[2] Considering that their cave was probably in one of the highlands of Asia Minor in a cold region, the exceptional conditions of their sleep becomes clearer. On the other hand, the Qur'an says in the same verse: “We turned them to the right and to the left”.[3] It shows that they were not in complete uniformity, mysterious and miraculous factors that are still unknown to us which turned them to the right and to the left , as well as  not to harm their organism.

God's power is unlimited, except in impossible works:

In discussions related to theology and God's attributes, it is said that God's will is not only assigned to things that are inherently impossible or require impossible things. But there may also be things that inherently and intellectually require the emergence of any impossible thing. Because it is very difficult for us to imagine their emergence, we humans cannot imagine them with our limited calculations and scales. If there is an expedient for such things, God's Will would flow on their creation and will create them.[4], [5]
